Who is our course for?

  • Clinicians

Unless you work in paediatrics or obstetrics, most clinicians manage older people with frailty. Our course helps you understand what frailty is, why we should spot it, and how that changes our approach to a person being treated for the condition you’re treating - whether that is pneumonia, hypertension or gallstones. We will help you manage common frailty syndromes like falls or confusion, spot medications that may cause harm, and make better patient centred decisions.

  • Nurses

To provide gold standard care for older people with frailty, they need medical treatment, nutrition, hydration, bowel care, continence care, treatment of pain, promotion of independence and mobility…sound familiar? High quality nursing care is a key cornerstone of geriatrics. We will teach you how to care for older people with frailty, prevent problems, spot problems, and manage them.

  • AHPs

Falls and reduced mobility. Environmental hazards and problems with ADLs. Medications causing harm. Losing weight. These are all important frailty issues that need AHPs to help manage them. Find out your role in Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and how you fit in with others in the prevention and management of issues such as falls, delirium, polypharmacy etc.

  • Anyone
